Creators today are founders, employers, and treasurers — usually all at once, usually with a spreadsheet. The tools they're given treat them like merchants: one seller, many buyers, money in one direction. But a community is not a checkout page. Money in a community flows in every direction — from fans to creators, from creators back to contributors, from everyone into shared projects.
